About Me:
Moved to New Mexico January 2006, after almost 20 years of being next to the Gulf of Mexico, in West Central Florida. I miss the water...and the Lightning Hockey, so I am trying to get into the Scorpions. I don't know many people in Albuquerque and don't get to meet to many new people here, because I am retired from the sheriff's office and don't work...but am in school full-time, online. I have almost completed my Master's degree, and will be starting my Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration in the fall of 2007.
I do enjoy meeting and talking with new people...I was a hostage negotiator for 5 years and an internal affairs inspector for two years, so I like conversation and can carry on discussions on almost any topic. I am a pretty open and honest individual with my friends, but have learned the art of guarded relationships, until I get to know a person.
Music:
I like a wide variety of music, but am not a fan of rap, hip-hop, or a lot of country/ western (though a little is fine...). My favorite artist is Jimmy Buffett and I am a member of the Parrot Heads of New Mexico.
Movies:
I watch a lot of comedies and adventure films, but also enjoy some documentaries and arthouse films.
TV:
I try not to watch a lot of television, unless its a movie, in-demand, the History Channel, or CNN. I have been watching Deadwood, Weeds, and Big Love, on HBO and Showtime, regularly.
Books:
I am not a big reader..I have been reading mostly academic text books over the past 5 years. However, I have read all four of Sarah Vowel's books and love her style and wit. I also read Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons.
Likes:
Almost anything NOT on my dislikes list.
Dislikes:
Arrogance, concete, impatience, dishonesty, selfishness, close-mindedness, meanness, and intentional hurtfulness.

Hobbies:
Photography, Ballooning (or both together), Observing the Human behaviors, and searching for the the human pleasure center.
Vices:
Sarcastic, jaded sometimes, and willingness to try almost anythng once...and twice if I'm not absolutely sure I disliked it the first time around.
